Here's the goods from Sadie's session at North Pond in Chicago. Our first session together was when she was just 3 months old -- her mom and I instantly hit it off and I pretty quickly adopted her as a good friend. Each time I edit her shots, my daughter Lily comes to the computer screen, demanding a play date with her. Isn't that funny and cosmic a little since I wanted a play date with her mom too?

Holy moly what a perfect day! The surroundings were so lovely with the old fence and fall colors I was almost worried they looked like a cheezy set!

When I posted the full proofs to her Mom, I had to say "It's only too bad that she's not more expressive." Pfffft. LOL

Stealth Midwest visit, shoot #2, one of my super favorite families I'll continue to do unless wild horses somehow keep me away from them. Our weekend couldn't have been more dreamy Fall deelovely or delightful. My only regret was that I didn't have more time to hang out with this family who has become so dear to me.

We hadn't shot them all together in 3 years and I was soooo happy they decided to do a family shot this year too -- I warned about regrets later. Although one-on-one portraiture is my favorite for connection and honesty, I cannot underscore the importance of capturing you and your family together. The kids love it. And you will love it too, once the years pass and these times are suddenly so far away -- you will not care that you have a few extra lines around your eyes or things are not as, um, firm as they once were (people, everything is just moving South from here, let's face it.)

Once we were done throwing every leaf in the forest, we headed downtown for a little urban skate dude time -- and some breakdancing as well but, frigga fragga, I'm out of time and can't edit right now. I want to post them ALL!! Oh, I'll be back to get you again next year, boys, oh yes I will!

Such a beautiful family. The boys look adorably haughty. It is my dream to have a family like this. Just playing and hanging out during fall. - Carly of Essaywritingservices.com

At long last the kids are back in school and I'm back to the blog (and having 3 consecutive uninterrupted thoughts in a row!). I think it'll take me a month or more to get through all the photos I took this summer, both for work and pleasure. We spent first half of August traveling back to the Midwest, spending equal time in Chicago and Wisconsin. We had a wedding/family reunion and visited both sides of family and countless friends. I'm barely recovered. But I was also thrilled to get to book sessions with a couple of my favorite regular clients while I was there.

I have been working with this family for 3 years, beginning with a maternity shoot when mom was pregnant with the first and on bed rest for nearly the entire pregnancy. She had a very difficult go of it and they weren't certain they would be blessed with any children at all, much less this second addition named Thomas -- just two years after the first! Again she was on bed rest the entire time. What a trooper! I'm so happy I've gotten to know them and to share a little bit of the journey.

We keep in touch via email and I demand update pix, especially since I missed Thomas' arrival. But this time I got to meet him live and in the chubby squishy flesh. He's only 7 months old here but, HOLY COW, so big and strong. And fast! And busy! More like a one-year session, I was breaking a sweat trying to keep up with him. Thanks for the workout, buddy, and it was awesome to meet you.

meeting_thomas.jpgHere's one of my fave images, from a Mom's perspective I just love it. His three teef. His neck that you would just bury your head in for a kiss and a sniff of Eau De Bebé...

Oh but let's not forget the original! Brother William! This bugger and I go way back. It was SO cool to see him totally going big boy on me, talking and running the house. I devoted a lot of the session to him and his fireman obsession because it's totally him right now. He's got this super cool wooden fire house from Grandma and you can see how loved that hat is. >melt<

Nice photography and cute babies!! I just spent a couple of hours looking through pictures of babies in Google. I just started this small photo studio and one of the services I offer is baby photography. I'm still going to school and this is just going to be a part time work so I can have money for my college. I have to write two essays due on Friday, one on whether honesty is always the best policy and the other is something on public schools.
